The top of the micro hole range is three half-step numbers. Garg cuts 5½ No. at 1.2 mm, 6 No. at 1.4 mm and 6½ No. at 1.5 mm.
Where each number is used
| No. | Hole | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 5½ No. | 1.2 mm | Fine hole rice mill and chamber jali |
| 6 No. | 1.4 mm | Fine hole mill jali |
| 6½ No. | 1.5 mm | Fine hole hopper and cleaner screen |
These are still called micro hole or fine hole sheet because the hole is 1.5 mm or smaller. The next number on the chart is 7½ No. at 2 mm, which mills treat as a chamber and chakki screen rather than a micro hole.
How the half numbers are ordered
Say the half. “6” and “6½” are different holes, 1.4 mm and 1.5 mm. A worn sheet is the check. Metal is SS 304, brass or copper. Thickness and plate size go on the RFQ.
